At EAR Portuguese literacy follows the Brazilian Common Core Standards (Common National Curriculum Base – BNCC). Beginning with the formative years (K-2) of literacy language development students engage in developing literary word coding and decoding strategies to construct meaning in different situated reading and writing contexts. Students at EAR will use these skills and strategies throughout their lifetime, to engage in the literate world where they navigate various social interactions and changing contexts through literacy.
