AP classes can boost your GPA and strengthen your college application.
At EAR we offer students the opportunity to study and participate in Advanced Placement (AP) courses approved by AP College Board in the United States. These rigorous courses allow students to engage in college-level coursework in 10th, 11th, and 12 while attending EAR. Students who choose to participate in these courses have the opportunity to earn college credits.
High school students around the world take AP courses and exams to challenge themselves, explore their interests, and earn college credit and placement. Taking AP courses can help build a student’s college resume and be competitive in the college application review process. These courses give students a taste of college-level work while developing the academic skills students will need for college success.
Each AP course has an exam, portfolio, or summative projects that are scored to evaluate each student’s content learning and discipline-specific skills. The AP Exam scores, on these assessments, can earn students college credit before they even set foot on a college campus—and some universities will allow students to skip introductory college courses based on the merits and achievements within their AP coursework.
EAR offers different AP Courses in English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Languages (French & Spanish), Studio Art, and Computer Science. The workloads in these rigorous courses are very demanding. The counseling department at EAR works closely with students and families to manage, guide, and offer recommendations for the AP courses that best suit the learning needs and desires of each individual student.
