Next Step: College!
The Secondary School begins at grade six and ends at graduation at the end of grade twelve.
Our program is based on a North American curriculum designed to prepare students for successful entry into universities in the United States and internationally. Students also take Brazilian Studies courses required for entry into Brazilian universities. As such, students may earn both the US and a Brazilian diploma at graduation. In addition, EAR is certified to offer the AP Capstone diploma from the College Board. By taking a series of Advanced Placement college-level courses, our students can earn a third diploma if they desire.
We want our students to become well-rounded individuals that are prepared to be informed, responsible world citizens, so we educate with the whole person in mind. Our students are exposed to a broad spectrum of academic disciplines from English Literature, Mathematics, Sciences, and Social Studies to Foreign Languages, Physical Education, Arts, and Technology. Thanks to flexible scheduling and our talented and dedicated faculty, we offer courses beyond minimum requirements.
We offer a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, with many of our High School students taking AP exams each year. These exams allow students to earn advanced university standing or credit. We also offer elective classes such as Music, Studio Art, Computer Science, Photojournalism, Spanish, French, and Personal Finance, along with extra-curricular activities such as Model United Nations, DECA, EcoClub, Sports, Dance, Robotics, and Chess. Field trips are designed to enhance and extend the curriculum and allow students to explore and develop their individual talents and interests.
The Secondary faculty works to develop units of study that help students develop research, presentation, and collaborative skills while addressing curricular goals. Our faculty models and encourages the meaningful use of technology.
Families looking for a school committed to personal and academic growth in a safe, supportive, and personalized learning environment will find it here. We look forward to hearing from you.
